Most in crisis management may be familiar with these two Chinese symbols, but others might be wondering what the charters to the left of the "Crisis Management Forum" banner are. ![]() These are the Chinese characters, "wei ji," a word for crisis. The character to the left, "wei," means "danger" or "a warning of danger." The character on the right, "ji," means "opportunity." Together the characters, "Danger" and "opportunity" form the word "crisis". Conveying the idea that, "where there is danger, there is also an opportunity." Since the purpose of crisis management is to find the opportunity amidst a path of dangers, we use these symbols. |
